My Insurance Documents

New customers

When you buy your its4me policy online you will usually be given the opportunity to print your own insurance certificate and documentation.

If you are unable to print your own documents, our online system will recognise this and a full set of documentation will be sent via first class post the following working day.

You should allow up to 4 working days, as items can sometimes be delayed in the post.

You will not be charged for new business documents if you have been unable to print them after purchase.

If you choose not to print your own documents, there is a standard charge of £5.00 to have them sent by post.

Changing your policy details

Your documents will be dispatched the next working day after payment has been collected following a change to your policy.

Renewing your policy

If you are given the option to renew your policy online, you will have the option to print your own documentation in most cases.

If you are unable to print your own documents, you will be sent them by post free of charge.

As with new business documents, you will incur a charge of £5.00 if you choose not to print your own documents.

If you renew your policy via telephone, the standard fee of £5.00 will also apply.

Lost certificates

Your insurance certificate is a legal document and should be kept in a safe place, preferably not in your car. To prevent fraud and misuse, customers do not have the ability to print multiple certificates from the its4me website.

If you need a replacement certificate, please contact us immediately on
0870 0131 464. Please note you will be subject to an administration fee of £20 if you have lost your certificate and require a replacement.

Cover notes

Some of the insurers on our panel prefer us to issue cover notes following a change to your policy. Cover notes have the same legal bearing as insurance certificates but will expire, typically in 30 or 60 days.

Either its4me or your insurance company will provide a certificate valid for the remaining term of the policy before the cover note expires.

Useful information

For security reasons, we are unable to email your insurance documents.

Whilst we can fax a copy of your certificate, the Post Office will not accept faxed copies as proof of your insurance when you need to tax your car.
